PartyTime

OverView

PartyTime is a platformer where the player is a party goer that needs a certain amount of money to get into the party and without getting caught by the police or getting robbed by the robbers. The design behind PartyTime was assigned by a theme which was "Side Effects". The association of the "Side Effects" theme was the power-ups which gave the player certain abilities to progress throughout the levels given. I was in a team in a team of 3 and used Unity 3D to make this 2D style game. We had our struggles because we didn't have a perforce or anything like that so we had to use Unity's Collab which was a little different and difficult to use at first. Once our team got over this hurdle the rest of the way there was smooth and consistent. The art was simple images found on google and where placed in the appropriate spot to finish off the look of the game. I built a short level to utilize the power-ups given to test the player's ability to use them. Using the power-ups were the key to moving on to the next level.

Responsibilities:

  • Came up 2 levels to extend the players experience 

  • Made a main menu that navigates the game

  • Made a pause menu for the player can exit whenever they want

  • Made power-ups that give a unique experience and helps the player progress through the level

  • Made a UI that consist of a timer and score
